Job Description:

The Commercial Analyst will report to the Senior Manager, Revenue Management. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and providing accurate reports to all stakeholders for the Commercial Division in accordance with pre-determined deadlines. He/she will analyse and forecast trends related to seat factor, competition, distribution and revenue. This is a fixed-term contract position.


KEY DELIVERABLES:


Accountability:


  • Optimises the use of Revenue Management Systems, Passenger Service Systems (PSS) and other Commercial systems to produce timely and accurate reports to key stakeholders;
  • Assists in the preparation and compilation of Board Reports in accordance with deadlines;
  • Provides timely and quality reporting and analysis in terms of trends, forecasts, seat load factor and competition;
  • Communicates with key stakeholders to identify opportunities which may improve performance at flight/spanet/route level;
  • Ensures all data in use is accurate, identifying the root cause of any data-related errors/issues and resolving or providing recommendations for corrective action;
  • Prepares and maintains a competitive route profile for each route that Caribbean Airlines operates;
  • Tracks interline bookings and revenue based on specified criteria;
  • Tracks and trends fuel cost and provides reports in accordance with specified deadlines;
  • Creates workbooks for each route assigned with the following revenue variance to budget, passenger variance to budget, competitor capacity, file fares, and load factors;
  • Prepares EBIT and other financial reports by flight number, class, and route;
  • Collates information on disruptions and provides costing as a result of same; and
  • Provides support to the Revenue Management team on routes as necessary.


Reporting:

  • Ensures the delivery of accurate and timely reports and provides effective data analysis and feedback to management to aid in the decision-making process;
  • Assists with ensuring the accuracy of the RMS (Revenue Management System) performance measurement, Distribution (GDS) monitoring and analysis and Revenue Integrity reporting and analysis; and
  • Prepares high-level comparison reports to identify opportunities for seat sales, promotions or pricing changes.

Customer Service:

  • Capitalises on opportunities to exceed the expectations of internal and external customers expectations by focusing on understanding and effectively resolving data and report requests in a professional and result-oriented manner.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Analyses trends and daily reports to track leakages in the system and recommends improvements.
  • Identifies new sources of accurate data which can be added to enhance Caribbean Airlines Revenue performance further.

Communication:

  • Contributes to the team discussion on Company and Department related matters;
  • Possesses a high standard of written and oral communication skills; and
  • Provides timely feedback.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

You must have a BSc. Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Accounting or Business Management from an accredited institution and/or a similar qualification.


Aviation experience is preferred, with proficiency in the use of Using Passenger Service Systems or other computerized Travel Management Programme. You must possess at least 2 years’ experience in revenue management, route analysis. revenue Integrity, pricing or distribution. Your ability to use MS. Excel to solve complex problems, create dynamic analysis and perform data queries is critical to this position.


You must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong analytical abilities and project management skills are essential requirements of the role. You will have a strong customer orientation while focusing on profitability and productivity. You will be actively interested in the day-to-day activities in the aviation industry with a keen interest to learn.



The successful candidate must be legally authorised to work in Trinidad & Tobago
