Are you passionate about creating safer workplaces and driving a strong safety culture? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Safety Technician to support and elevate our safety management systems. In this role, you’ll work hands-on with safety professionals, contribute to meaningful initiatives, and help ensure our operations meet the highest standards of compliance and care.

🌟 What You’ll Do

You’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving our safety programs through activities such as:

Safety Inspections & Compliance

• Conduct ladder inspections and verify trailer safety equipment, first aid kits, and fire extinguishers.
• Perform chemical cabinet inventories and PPE/fall protection inspections.
• Complete routine facility, equipment, and process inspections.
• Document findings and support internal and external compliance audits.

• Update safety bulletin boards and conduct hazard identification, JHAs, and FHAs.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of hazard controls and assist with investigations of injuries and hazardous occurrences.
• Prepare reports and ensure accurate submissions to the Labour Program.

• Conduct industrial hygiene sampling and ergonomic assessments.
• Deliver or support occupational health and safety training.
• Assist with onboarding new employees and maintain compliance records.
• Manage PPE inventory, fit testing, and training.

• Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
• Maintain emergency equipment and documentation.

• Support the Workplace Health and Safety Committee (WHSC) with agendas, minutes, and action tracking.
• Prepare annual reports and maintain federally required safety records.
• Provide guidance to employees and promote a positive, proactive safety culture.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Safety.

🎓 What You BringEssential Skills

• Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in OHS or an aviation-related field.
• OHS designation (e.g., CRST) is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license.

• A strong desire to build and maintain an industry-leading safety management system.
• Ability to earn employee trust and influence positive change.
• Professionalism and resilience when facing challenges.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
• Knowledge of Canada Labour Code Part II and TDG (Air & Ground).
• Awareness of aircraft maintenance, repair, overhaul, or manufacturing environments.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to interpret WHMIS and SDS information.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
